Show Notes

Welcome to Season 3 of the Next Peak Podcast, where we help you redefine what success looks like for you and share strategies, tools, and stories to help you climb your next peak.

What do faith and fitness and cycling and pastoring have in common? In today's episode, you will find out because Joe Alvarado joins Clint Herndon to discuss:

  • The difference between trying and training
  • Why accountability is necessary
  • How to live a more integrated life
  • Why consistency and stewarding influence are so important

Joe is the Pastor of Eternal Rock Church, a Group Fitness Instructor, a Stages Master Educator, and has his M.A. in Biblical Theology and another M.A. in Strategic Leadership.

Paul said to the Ephesians that we're to train our minds. Joe defines training as doing what you can do today so that you can do even more tomorrow.  Joe encourages us to use the phrase training instead of trying. Training involves metrics and goals. If we change our mindset and adopt the training mentality, it adds a layer of accountability.
